When your site is finally ready, the next step is to drive traffic to your site and start bringing in some affiliate sales.
Driving traffic is based on ranking high on Google. Ranking a site on Google is all about on-page SEO and building backlinks (from lots of other sites on the Internet) to your site.
On-page SEO is pretty straight forward; you’ll need a couple of basic things set-up:
- title, description, keywords, h1 tags.
- Linking related content to related content.
- Outbound linking to related content on sites seen as authority sites.
Building backlinks is a little more tricky…
Internet marketers use to buy links from link building networks. These are services that sell links. They own tons of sites they use to boost your ranking.
This used to be easy. But not anymore.
Google is de-indexing many link building networks and it appears they are also actively punishing people who use them. When you use these types of services it will lower your Google organic ranking. This leads to less traffic on your site.
Backlinks from many of these sites aren’t working anymore. BMR (Build My Rank) was one of the biggest link building networks in the world. Google de-indexed virtually their entire network.
Throwing a bunch of backlinks from social sites, forum profile links, blog comments, and article directories has very little effect on ranking. They help to offer backlink diversity, but they’re not enough to boost your organic ranking, especially if you’re in competitive niches.
So what can you do now?
Today, you should use 2 types of backlink providers.
1. First, hire a backlink provider to offer backlink diversity who DOESN’T own a network of sites; they must use ‘public’ properties, so they can’t be hit by Google (no footprint).
You’ll use them to set up base links for your site. These are the common links you always hear about such as web 2.0 links, wiki links, social bookmarks, comment links, pdf links etc.
2. After your base links have been set up, buy high PR backinks. These powerful links will usually be able to catapult your site/inner page to the top of Google in a very short period of time (sometimes in a few days). If you get enough high PR backinks you’ll always rank, without fail.
The first backlink provider must drip feed links (preferably daily) so your backlink building looks natural to Google. If you push hard with link building Google can fight back and punish you.
I recommend Backlink Banzai. They drip-feed quality, content-based links for you each and every month. You get 1000s of new content link submissions every month.
You can promote up to 20 different pages or sites, each via its own specific keyword. There are plenty of services that promise fast results. But Backlink Banzai is not one of them. They’re in it ‘for the long haul’. The whole point of the system is gradual & diverse link-building on automatic pilot to create lasting and strong results.
The results avoid many of the problems of fast/immediate growth. Pointing 1000+ backlinks to your site in one day is very bad SEO. A slow, gradual growth is what will build your business for long-term success.
More importantly, Backlink Banzai DOESN’T own a network of sites; they use ‘public’ properties, so they can’t be hit by Google. That’s the main reason I recommend them.
High PR page backlinks
Apart from using BB, you need to add in high PR page links to send your site/inner page to the first page of Google. High PR links works extremely well when you mix them with the backlinks you build using BB.
What are high PR page backlinks?
Google gives us a few indicators of a website’s authority, one of them is PageRank. PR reflects how powerful and trustworthy the page is in Googles eyes. The Google PageRank runs from 0 – the worst, to 10 – the best.
A single link coming from a PageRank 5 page is more powerful than a link from a PageRank 1 page.
Not only that, Google loves backlinks that appear contextually or are surrounded with relevant content to your web page. These links are very valuable to your site.
For example if your site is about muscle building and you have high PR links from other muscle building sites, then this boosts your rankings. Instead, If you have links from gardening sites Google isn’t going to value it as much.
So, if you can get PR5 links, and the content of the page is relevant to your site… better still, there are only a few out going links from the PR5 page. These kind of links will catapult your ranking every time you do it.
You can hunt down some affordable high PR backlink provider here on Traffic Planet, some even guarantee rank. Just browse through the listings, talk to a couple of reputable providers and try them out.
